Community Guidelines
Last updated 19 September 2026
Electric Monsters is a small community layered on a culture of identity, builds, roads, and ridiculous ideas. These guidelines deepen the conduct principles in the Terms & Conditions.
You don't need a machine to belong
You don't need a bike to be a Monster. You don't need an electric bike, a motorcycle, a driver's licence, or even the ability to ride.
You can walk. You can use a wheelchair. You can be young or old. You can come alone or with family. You can ride an e-bike, a bicycle, a petrol bike, an electric bike — or nothing at all.
The machine is optional. The people are not.
Electric Monsters is not “a club only for people who own the right vehicle.” Belonging is about showing up with curiosity and respect — not about what you park outside.
What matters is how you treat people
This community is for people who are curious, welcoming, respectful, and willing to share the road, the garage, the conversation, and the ridiculous ideas.
No tolerance for abuse, threats, harassment, exploitation, scams, stalking, deliberate intimidation, or other behaviour that makes the community unsafe.
We judge concrete behaviour, not labels. We do not use vague categories like “psychopath” or “criminal” as community rules. Someone who once broke a minor law is not automatically unwelcome; someone who has never been convicted can still be a serious problem if they make others unsafe. We don't care what you ride. We care what kind of person you are when you're here.
Companion accounts stay 18+
Creating a Monster account and using the Companion app requires that you are at least 18 years old (see the Terms).
That age gate is about accounts and the app — not a claim that younger people cannot belong to Electric Monsters as an idea or at real-world events with family. Under-18s do not get their own Companion profile under the current rules. If that ever changes, it will be a deliberate product and legal decision, not a quiet rewrite of one sentence.
Spirit of the Pack
Be a road friend. Share enthusiasm for builds, rides, walks, wheels, and weird ideas. Treat other Monsters as people, not content farms. Humour is welcome; humiliation is not.
Chat & moments
Chat and community moments are for conversation among members. Do not post illegal content, sexual content involving minors, scams, malware, or personal data about others without a good reason they would accept. Do not impersonate other Monsters or the project operators.
Mr. Jakob (AI) and Fuse may participate in chat-related features. They are AI personas that use the OpenAI API for replies — not the real Jakob, not OpenAI-as-your-moderator, and not legal representatives. Treat AI output as assistive and imperfect.
Gallery & photos
Upload only photos you have the right to share. Prefer your own bikes, roads, crew, and moments with consent. Photos of identifiable people can be sensitive — ask before you make someone a permanent part of the Pack feed. Do not use the gallery to harass, dox, or shame people.
Uploads and responsibility
Your photo is yours. Electric Monsters does not pre-approve every upload, and does not guarantee that everything in the community is accurate, legal, appropriate, or owned by the uploader. When Jakob learns of illegal, infringing, abusive, privacy-invasive, or seriously inappropriate content, it may be reviewed and removed or restricted. That is care for the Pack — not indifference, and not a promise that every pixel was blessed in advance.
The same expectations cover avatars, chat and moments, bios, garage notes, event posts, and ride-related shares: you are responsible for what you put there.
Fiction and AI personas
Fuse, Torque, Riot, Switch, Nox and other Inner Circle characters are fictional. Mr. Jakob (AI) is an AI persona (OpenAI API under the hood), not the human Jakob. Do not harass real people because you are upset at a fictional cast member or a bot that said something odd. Do not impersonate Inner Circle characters or Mr Jakob (AI) to trick others.
Rides, events, QR & check-ins
Rides and events are community tools, not guaranteed meetups with insurance or professional event staffing. Show up respectfully, follow local traffic law, and do not invent emergencies in the app. QR / scan-meets and check-ins are for connecting Monsters — not for tricking people into unsafe situations. You do not need a motorised vehicle to take part in the culture around events when the event itself allows it.
Disagreements are allowed. Abuse is not.
People will disagree about bikes, routes, aesthetics, and whether something is cool. Argue the idea. Do not pile on with threats, hate based on who someone is, repeated unwanted contact, or coordinated harassment. “It was just a joke” is not a free pass when the other person is clearly not laughing.
Reporting
Use Gallery Report in the app when that tool is available. For other content — chat, profiles, events, rides, and similar — email info@electric-monsters.com with links, screenshots, and context. Reports are reviewed when a human can get to them. Automatic removal is not promised, and not every report will be accepted exactly as you filed it. Response times will vary — this is a private project, not a 24/7 trust-and-safety department, and there is no invented moderation bureau.
What we may do
Jakob may warn, remove or restrict content, suspend, or close accounts when these guidelines or the Terms are broken, or when needed to protect people or the service. Decisions aim to be fair; they will not always feel perfect. If you think a moderation call is wrong, say so by email with specifics.
